Artmoves: The Fine Art of Telling a Story Online

When well-known museums, collectors, galleries around the US need to crate, transport, store, ship and install art in South Florida, Artmoves is the preferred choice. It’s no surprise that Artmoves has had little time to devote to online marketing efforts and turned to Vortex Communications to update their website.
When creating Artmoves’ new site, the primary goal was to present the company’s story through a compelling design and messaging theme which would highlight their unique services, qualifications and experience.
The Vortex website and graphic design solution incorporated several features:
- A responsive (smartphone and tablet-friendly) site
- Contemporary user interface
- Search engine optimization to generate prospects and leads using market specific keyword phrases
- Forms that capture useful information from website inquiries
- Easy to use tools to add news about recent projects or notable accomplishments
- Calls-to-action that prompt visitors to engage with the Artmoves team
Quality Web Design Doesn’t Need to Break the Bank
Tom Weinkle, creative director at Vortex, says, “We often like to build custom sites and themes which tend to keep the code lighter and page loading faster. In this case, customizing an off-the-shelf WordPress theme met the client needs with tighter development time and budgeting.”
Make the Message Memorable
Respecting their client/collector’s wishes, Artmoves takes an understated approach to public relations and marketing. The new website needed to reflect their expertise and dedication to customer service in a similar way.
After discussing goals and options, Vortex developed the concept “Art Movers, Not Shakers,” as a foundation to the site’s messaging.
In order to downplay specific artworks, Vortex added a contemporary treatment to project photography that gives the site a unique feel. The overall effect underscores Artmoves’ unique expertise and level of trust they have achieved with clients.
A memorable message means little if potential clients never see it. The use of important keyword phrases on Artmoves’ new site made a world of difference. “After the site’s redesign, the well-constructed SEO incorporated into its pages is generating new contacts on a monthly basis,” says Artmoves owner Mark Klepper.
Ongoing, exceptional service helps keep clients satisfied
Technical issues caused the flagging of Artmoves’ Google+ page, but the Vortex team was able to work with Google support staff to quickly resolve the issue. That’s just one example of the high level of service offered to their clients.
The Artmoves site was built with WordPress, an open source platform that simplifies content management for clients. However, Artmoves has been so busy, they’ve relied on Vortex to make minor updates on an as needed basis.
Tom says, “Our goal is to design and build sites in such a way that clients don’t have to rely on us, but we’re always ready to jump in if we’re needed.”
