As a design firm of record to Ethicon Endo-Surgery for several years, Vortex was selected to develop a direct mail promotion for the marketing of the Xcel line of trocars in relation to surgical product reprocessing.
To combat the industry trend of reprocessing, communications goals for the promotion were to: demonstrate product manufacturing complexity; performance features which product reprocessing would compromise; and a new insertion seal design.
Vortex developed the “Quality is Deliberate” concept of showing the product disassembled alongside an assembled product. This helped to clarify and emphasize accompanying text messaging which surrounded the products in a shipper/display box.
We coordinated all aspects of the project from design to manufacturing, assembly and fulfillment.
Accompanying protective packaging and shipper boxes were created with brand consistent messaging.
