The Vortex Communications graphic design team was selected by the Israel, Rose, Henry & Robert Wiener Charitable Foundation to develop a brand logo to represent their philanthropic activities.
Originally, the client—who is not focused on high visibility—was initially interested in a simple typographic treatment sans icon. As graphic designers, we developed solutions which focused on their goal. During the review process, the client came to understand that even though brand recognition was not a high priority, incorporating a symbol that properly reflected their activities would add value to their work.
After exploring multiple concepts we settled on a “tree” form that helped to suggest the notion of strong community roots, strength and support, as well as growth. The design is striking, clean and easily adaptable to any size and application that may be needed.
